I think you had a good, hot underpainting in this, which has ensured a wonderful glow in the painting; always like these views of tucked-away, even mysterious places.

You are quite right Robert, I gave this a hot pink ground which I use quite often actually, as it sometimes helps to give it a bit of atmosphere.
