Good idea to combine your own sky with the lighthouse from the book, they go together well. I think you are making great progress in the short time you have been painting. Now why does the lighthouse and sky reflect in the water and not the nearer rocks? I thinks the sky works really well yt He way.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I wasn't sure whether combining the photo and the book would work, but I am quite pleased with the result. I take your point about the rocks, Stephen. I am learning all the time. Originally I started with acrylics back in January, but only recently picked up watercolours and I love them.
