Lighthouse after Terry Harrison

Lighthouse after Terry Harrison

Lovely sky Dawn.

Lovely colours Dawn and some nice wet in wet work.

Good idea to combine your own sky with the lighthouse from the book, they go together well. I think you are making great progress in the short time you have been painting. Now why does the lighthouse and sky reflect in the water and not the nearer rocks? I thinks the sky works really well yt He way.

Lovely Dawn, especially the way you have combined the photo and book

Atmospheric beautiful sunset reflections Dawn.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I wasn't sure whether combining the photo and the book would work, but I am quite pleased with the result. I take your point about the rocks, Stephen. I am learning all the time. Originally I started with acrylics back in January, but only recently picked up watercolours and I love them.

Hang on Studio Wall

Watercolour on paper. Originally I painted the sky from a photo and then found the image of the lighthouse in Terry Harrison's Painting Watercolour Sea and Sky

About the Artist
Dawn Halliwell

I started painting in Jan 2016 after the death of my youngest sister. I found it great therapy and still do! I love experimenting with different techniques and media. This year, I have set myself a challenge of working on my portrait skills, but I do love to paint animals and landscapes…
