"Winter grazing shows the local and familiar landscape of Ditton Meadows, Cambridge, where I live, on a December day. I love the rural countryside and especially at this time of year when we see the skeletal forms of the trees, the muted light, gray skys and soft, natural colours of the land. As you can see by the photographs, this painting was painted "En Plein Air", in the open air. Even though it was a cold day, I loved every moment of being there and painting this scene."
