Oh yes, David. This floats my boat.

Thanks Frank, this work is paying homage to one of my earliest influences Ben Nicholson and the primitive artist Alfred Wallis who in turn was Nicholson' inspirations

Fascinating, David...I have looked up Alfred Wallis, and can spot the influence...Clean lines and simplicity of shapes. I do like this.

I love Ben Nicholson & recognised the influence. I'll google Alfred Wallis, thanks.

I haven't looked them up yet and will be interested in the homage as I don't get the very formal right side (which appeals to me greatly) against the less formal left side.

THANKS FOR COMMENTS DEREK ,BUT THAT IS THE POINT ,FORMALITY AND TRADITION,AND WHAT IS OBVIOUS IS FREELY ABANDONED TO GIVE AN INNOCENCE OF EXPRESSION,JUST STUDY A CHILDS PAINTINGS ,THINGS OF BEAUTY LIE IN THEM PERSPECTIVE, COLOUR SCIENCE, SCALE AND EVERY TRADITIONAL REGULATION ARE VACANT IN THEIR INNOCENCE WHEN PORTRAYING WHAT THE UNTRAINED MIND PERCEIVES. ALFRED WALLIS WAS A RETIRED ILLITERATE FISHERMAN IN ST IVES ,NICHOLSON WAS INSPIRED BY HIS NAIVE ARTWORK ,AND FORMULATED IT INTO HIS PAINTINGS OF THE 1940,S WHEN HE LIVED IN CORNWALL

I like the colours and the 'mix' of the two styles. I too had to look up the two artists who were the influence for this painting and I think you have captured this style well. I love it when I am introduced to new(to me) artists. Thank you.
