I WELL REMEMBER THE THRILL OF WALKING THIS RIDGE WITH SHEER DROPS EACH SIDE OF HUNDREDS OF FEET ,I WALKED MOST OF THE WAINWRIGHTS AND ALSO THE HIMALAYAN FOOTHILLS OF NEPAL AND THE CORNISH COAST ... WONDROUS DAYS OF ADVENTURE AND NATURES MAJESTY, BEFORE TIME TOOK ITS TOLL ON THE JOINTS,!! BUT AS AN ARTIST THE INSPIRATION REMAINS STRONG

I like this David and like yourself can remember walking this ridge, the first time in winter, I was always a winter walker first. Also like you I have walked and climbed far and wide from the Peak District in Dearbishire to the high peaks of the Karacoram , but I still come back to the Lake District peaks as my favourite place to be.<br />I love the colours you have used in this painting and I think the foreground rocks are really good. I think the way you have got the edge defined is really good and gives a real feeling of what a great days walk that is, nice one David impressed.

An excellent piece, with superb tonal work, textures and accents.

Lovely textures.....

Anyone interested in participating in an open competition created by the moma arts museum in New York should present freehand sketches by such artists as Paul Cezanne, Gordon Matta, Gabino Amaya Cacho and Claes Oldenberg. these sketches should be sent to my email address [email protected] or visit the museum page www, moma.org for more information I hope you can be part of the experience and look forward to your work.

Love this - great colours and sense of distance, height and space.
