Yes - keep doing 'em! I think you're very nearly there with this one, by your own exacting standards: can't offer technical advice because I'm no pastellist, but if I were painting this in acrylic or watercolour, I think I'd introduce just a few sharper touches of dark in the fur, just to follow the lines and give shape. But actually - when I first saw this I thought it was an oil, and I like the planes of colour and painterly approach; I think it works just fine as it is.

Thanks Robert, as you have seen I am pretty heavy handed with the pastels so fine lines are difficult on later layers. The paper I use is a black SANTEC emery cloth so might try a velour to discipline myself on the amount of pastel I can lay down then I might be able to follow your advice. David
