Brilliant, love it David.

David I am looking at it. I will come back with some STARS later.

Thankyou Jenny very kind x

Brilliant David superb light throughout colour and composition. Love it

Hi David I will try to be normal today whatever that means. A much loser painting than your usual. Yes you have caught the light and shadows very well indeed. Using only five colours has ensured the harmony of the colouring throughout. I particularly like the building on the left with that face gazing down. The treatment of the buildings at the back on the right have a good atmospheric feel to them as well. Looking at the painting overall I think you found parts of the painting a challenge but you have pulled off another fine painting. Well done.

Great perspective, David, good shadows effects

Great work David,very enchanting!!

thankyou Jenny very kind comment

many thanks Dennis much appreciated

John lovely comments yes you have been rather normal today .Yes it was a challenge but then every painting should be a challenge don't you think,I feel we should stretch ourselves .It did take me a month to do and I'm still not totally happy with it but then I'm never totally satisfied .

Many thanks Pat for your kind comments thankyou Gudrun lovely comment many thanks Andrea very kind

Those figures are so lifelike David highlighted against the sun. Buildings perfect. A great painting.

No litter, no cigarette ends, no washing hanging over the street or canaries in cages either come to think of it......ha ha, only kidding David!! I thought as John had given you an easy time of it, I would make up for it.....lol Seriously though, I think you've linked the two 'lighting' areas perfectly, the strong sunlit area and the shadowed area are seemless with the use of the figure shadows. The back light on the tourist figures is brilliant too. I agree with John ref the limited palette, I like the mellow-ness (not sure if thats a word) of it. The face along the friese of the building is a nice touch.

Smashing capture of the intended David, the shadows particularly

thankyou Carole for your lovely comments

so many lovely comments Picasso you started off teasing me then you became all mellowish x

thankyou Derek all the best

Hi David its so nice to come back and read the comment, fun as well. By the way Fiona left out Pigeons. Say no more. I have always wondered what happens when you click the FOLLOW button. I expect it tells one when that artist has uploaded. That would be a help as I cannot always be around, and I miss things. Any idea how it works?

Hi John if you click on the follow button beside the image you will receive an email informing you that the artist is on the gallery or in residence as we say lol.I like you enjoy the banter it is fun and you do make amusing comments I know we are serious about our art but not too precious hey!

Thanks for that David. Think I might give it a try as I cannot or none of us can be around all the time. I will try a few. You are first in line. So here goes. Now I will really find out if you take a bass broom out with you to give a clean sweep up before you start painting. Lol

John you are already being followed by me to watch out it is like having a parrot on your shoulder with eyes like a hawk lol

It looks a super, sunny spot David. The figures look relaxed and enjoying themselves. A great advert for Corfu .

Tourists in Corfu Town is painted in oils on canvas 20" x 16" and is my latest work .The three male figures in the foreground (one lighting up a cigarette )are local people the figures producing shadows are tourists. It was the shadows and the October light that caught my eye (against the day)I have used no more than 5 colours from the Winsor and Newton range
