Ouch...it looks muddy in this light. Its really not!

Cant see the mud David, perhaps just that the colours are a little subdued ? Perhaps a suggestion would be to give the rather large expanse of foreground some extra texture and shadows, to increase the contrast ? Just a thought.

I agree with Sharon your colours are very delicate David and I would suggest that it is a work in progress and not quite finished. The foreground does need a bit of Oomph ( if that's how you spell it ) make it darker ,add sone texture , maybe some foliage or rocky bits. The shadow under the tower is lovely and gives a nice. sense of depth ...chuck a few more in. 😉😉😉😉😉😉

Another re look and another suggestion...there are a lot of vertical lines may be sone horizontals wouldn't come amiss ...at angles in shadows ! Sorry if you didn't want a full critique but I'm an interfering so and so and I know ( hopefully) that you don't mind . 🙂

Oh...here I am again , you can see I have a spare ten minutes.!!! . What are you using to tape it down ????????? Dreaded parcel tape all shiny and sticky...no no no. . You can get a nice brown two inch wide sticky paper tape ..I can't remember it's proper name but it's what you should use, it cuts neatly to size then you sponge it wet , get rid of the excess and tape your paper down. To do it dry use masking tape... Ok I'm off ...🙃

Some good points here David, it's come on well. My bits to add are :- the branches and foliage of the trees are a bit sudden where they meet the trunks, the effect of adding trees afterwards is not too distracting, usually dark over light in watercolours.
