Cindy Wider

Biography

Cindy Wider lives in tropical Cairns, Far North Queensland Australia. She has been a full time artist, illustrator and curriculum designer for over 25 years. In that time she has won many awards, sold hundreds of original artworks to collectors all around the world, and enjoyed consistent gallery representation. Cindy began her career as a fine artist and then more recently moved into children's book writing and illustration. After living in gorgeous Yorkshire England for 5 years Cindy's love of the imaginary world of children's books was re-ignited and she is now working on an entire series of characters called the 'CuddlyCats Family' and Friends who live in the make-believe world of Cuddlesville. She is inspired by the gorgeous Lake District and amazing Beatrix Potter. Cindy is passionate about sharing her love of drawing with others and her unique method and art curriculum is taught both online and in the real world to adults and children of all ages. She is the Artist in Residence at the Freshwater Christian College in Brinsmead Qld Australia where she supports teachers who are teaching her course in classrooms from Prep to Grade 4. Cindy is an Official Ambassador for both Derwent Pencils and St Cuthberts Mill paper, her art tutorials regularly appear in major magazines and publications.
