Lovely painting, Chris - I really like the reflections in the water...

Chris, there is something very friendly about your painting style, very pleasant picture

Thank you very much Jan and Annie for your valued comments.

Lovely sky Christopher and as Jan has said the reflections work well, as does the church. There is a bit of a problem with the tones though. The background tone is very similar to the foreground, which has the effect of flattening the scene. If you look at your photo you will see what I mean. I usually paint the background hills and trees while the sky is still damp, which gives a softer feel to the distance. When that is dry you can paint the foreground features with a stronger mix and the edges will be hard which brings them forward. Hope you don't mind my suggestions but I think that would help your work.

This is beautiful work Chris and a lovely composition.

Thankyou Stephen and Margaret for your valued comments.
