Sounds like a great holiday Chrissie! I like both your sketches, perhaps this most, in particular the loose foreground and those dark tones beyond the trees.

A recent skiing trip allowed me time to make some sketchbook paintings. A couple of piste side sketches and a photo , then back in the chalet - a sketchbook painting. A really great way to do it! I use acrylic gouache in my sketchbooks.
