HMS Starling at sea 1959
Famous for sinking 14 U Boats in World War 2, Starling was later converted into a navigation training ship based on Portsmouth. I spent 9 months onboard gaining my engineroom watchkeeping certificate before going off to the RN Engineering College. Starling was placed in reserve at the end of 1959 and scrapped in 1965
