SS Turbinia gatecrashed the 1897 Review to show off the speed advantages of turbines. No vessel could catch her. This picture was copied from a photograph taken just after and is thought to be the only decent one of this groundbreaking ship at that time. I researched the colour scheme from looking at pictures of her the Discovery museum in Newcastle.
