This has worked very well Chris, the mill seems to stand out more, with a very clear lead-in to it. The shadow on the mill gives it a very 3D look.

Lovely watercolour Chris, your mill is beautifully done.

I can't believe this. Is this watercolour? How did you do ? Super!!

A lovely piece. Especially love the detail on the mill.

Fiddling rarely works, Chris - this time you got it! Both composition and colours are excellent

A beautiful painting spring painting.

Much better, agree with Stephen. The foreground and the mill are now the focus of the picture, many congrats on a superbly executed picture.

It's great Chris, lovely spring feel and Windmills are lovely subjects anyway

12"x9". I have looked at my previous posting of this subject and contemplated lifting out colour from the offending cloud as suggested by one or two of you good people. However, I decided to leave it as a reminder of what not to do when painting a sky. This is a completely new painting which I think works much better. I took out some bushes and muted the colour of the foreground flowers so as not to distract from the Mill Thank you for all your comments on my previous posting.
