I know what to do with pastels: leave 'em to Catherine Lidden! I don't see how one could begin to compete with this; I can get a little bored with the more consciously "cute" paintings of animals, but you go far beyond that and capture character and put it in context (I wonder why some affect to find animal paintings not "real" art; done like this, it so obviously is).

Wow ! I'm blown away. THIS , is what I want to do. I have been using pastel pencils since January and love them . I long for the day when I can get to this standard.Practice ,practice I guess.Thanks for sharing your work. Dave.
