Hi Carolyn, is the painting from your imagination, try copying a snow scene from a Christmas card, it will give you an idea where to put shadows, I know its daunting at first, but once you have done a couple you will soon find them a lot easierto do and you know what they say, practice makes perfect, !!

It's good to try new things Carolyn but it takes practice. I know as I struggle with landscapes or anything 'new'.
