Chow Chow called Braetach

On a purely canine note, the only dogs I've really not got on with have been Chow Chows - both the ones I knew were bad-tempered old buggers: one was a pub dog - when he got irritated, which he often did, he'd trot round the back bar and bite the landlady... Why she put up with it - well, fear I suppose... Just his little way, she'd say, giving the tourniquet another twist to check the blood-flow. But perhaps I've just been unlucky with them: not as unlucky as the pub landlady, obviously. All that to one side, it's a great painting, with life and movement.
