A lovely attempt of painting this gourd, the form and linear fold upon the skin and indentation, well done Caroline!

Thank you. I found it really hard to make the nobbly bits 2 dimensional (or do I mean 3 dimensional). I could see faint shadow, but couldn’t reproduce it.

Loving all these Autumn fruit. I’ve tried to show this Gourd with all its nobbly bits. I didn’t have the right colours to get the very flesh coloured skin, but the vibrant streaks of golden yellow are quite close using New Gamboge with a little added cadmium orange. I sketched it first and painted in stages, then added a little more detail with my pencil at the end.
