Beautiful pastel. The fur is so realistic and I like the subtle colours in the background, reflecting the colours of the tiger.

What a beauty, Carol. An effective pastel, especially the fur.

The fur is so lifelike. This is really lovely.

Beautiful painting, lovely fur detail

Excepional detail Carol....beautiful.

You could reach out and stroke it - not an advisable thing to do in reality, but as others have said, the fur is beautifully painted, and everything else about the portrait is right too.

lovely painting, how do you fix this on velour. I usually paint pastel on velour but if knocked it tends to "fall off", so I'm worried about sending a pastel on velour through the post

Many thanks to you all for your comments. In response to your question Jenny, I never fix my pastel paintings as I find it dulls and alters the colours. I do use glassine paper over the surface of the painting in order to rub my hand across to help push the pastel into the surface. As to sending a pastel painting through the post, it is something I have never done and to be honest would be reluctant to do so.
