Lucky Graham....two MG's, lovely watercolour Brian.

I admire your way with the complicated curves and reflections of a car. I know it's just observation, but i still can't do it! Do you paint in colour and then wash back fro the reflections, or paint them directly? i am thinking in particular of the lovely Maserati painting.

Thank you all for the comments. Matthew, for highlights on high gloss surfaces it depends on the quality of the reflection, wet in wet with a lift out where the edge is soft and wet on dry for a hard edge, often the eye is fooled by the reflected image. Glazing on a totally dry underpainting and using non staining colours, Backruns still spoil a good few paintings where this "illustrative style" is appropriate. hope this helps

This works really well, you paint cars with so much affection for them Brian
