I think you made a good job of this, a face full of expression.

A super portrait. Everything is lovely about her and she's a very pretty little girl with a sparkle in her eyes. Why do say it didn't make it?

Thanks Michael and Avril. Ella (aged10) and I entered the leisure painter competition = "Family portraits" and we got the letter today returning our portraits and confirming we had not "been chosen" looking forward to seeing the winners particularly the "quality of work entered by children"

No - mine didn't make it either. Could you post Ella's one as well as the childrens ones are so lovely. I think you've made a great job of this portrait and they are not easy in watercolour - as I have found out!

P.S. Don't know about you, but I would have liked to have seen the organisers send a little certificate or something to reward the child entries that didn't make it. Nothing elaborate, just an acknowledgement of the work they had put into their portraits to encourage them to keep going and try again.

Thea like your idea of a certificate. I have posted Ellas Portrait and booked myself in for plastic surgery and written the minx out of my will.

What a lovely portrait, you have cought the wonderful joy of youth, the winning portraits must be stunning!!

Lovely portrait Brian, expressive face and good colour
