Gosh I bet this was difficult to do. The engine is really good. Maybe less background detail would help it to stand out more although I can see you wanted to put it in its setting

This is a lovely watercolour! The detail on the locomotive is very well observed.

I like this painting very much Brian. Engine is fantastic. Agree with Diana on suggestion of less detail. I would keep only one group of people: eiter the passengers on the platform or the maintenance team. I think out of the two I would favour maintenace team.

Thanks for the comments. Diana and Olga you were right and I have tones down the background and made some changes to the darks on the loco. Have not rephotographed as I have now framed it in order to "show" it at my art group and Model engineering club. I will get some stick from the latter as my love of the steam effect causes them to believe I cant paint wheels. Thanks again for the feedback.
