And another poppy

And why not? Can't get enough poppies - either the photo here is slightly out of focus, or I've been at the red wine again, but it doesn't matter, I like the composition and the silky quality of the petals. These really have to be my favourite flowers, representing sun, summer, fresh air. You can't paint enough of them, so far as I'm concerned. Lifts the spirits!

Oh - I do love poppies - such cheerful flowers. For the artist they provide an real opportunity to open up and go for it with the colour. You just can't be timid when painting a poppy! Lovely series of paintings that capture these flowers wonderfully well.

Strongly sensual and passionate - I can feel the stems and tendrils moving and the flower heads are magnificent! Love your choice of background too.
