I like the composition Brian, the figures and the textured masonry......plus you're doing that scratchy thing again and it really lifts the greenery. Smashing little watercolour.

As Fiona says, everything you're trying is being accomplished and no problem with working from photos. The textures you have created work well and the tones are smashing.
