I'm envious; just tried a dark painting with evening light effects, and it was so disastrous I'm going to paint over it - as soon as possible. This is a very unusual approach for watercolour, and I think Beatrice had the right word - 'incredible!'. I think it works so well because of the soft, velvety edges and the warmth of that red - plus a whole lot of other reasons...
