Beautiful light. She looks lovely.

Great expression Robert. Love the eyes.

Spectacular portrait, her skin and hair wonderful.

Lovely portrait Robert. What kind of paper did you use please?

Lovely work - great light - love everything about it, Robert

Wonderful portrait, Robert, I like the softness and the light.

Thank you all for the lovely comments I think this was the forth painted portrait that I have had a go at. This of the lovely Charlotte my wife's niece. I very often paint on paper because they are considered to be practice pieces of which I have lots ,or I am concerned that the painting will not turn out as I have wanted. Beginning to work more on canvas's of different types. Most of my practice pieces are subject to copyright so will remain on the wall of my studio as reminders of which end of a brush to hold. The paper I use is either Georgian or Windsor and Newton not really fussy which, depends what is at the art shop.

You are such a talented portrait artist with a unique style - can now easily recognise your work at first glance. Without exception I love the poses, use of dark/light contrast and your skin tones & brushwork are fab. I think your mother is the stand out portrait for me.

The light is beautifully captured a lovely portrait.

This is a lovely portrait. I think you have earned the right to use the best quality artist's materials for all your future work.
