I like it the watermelon glows.

Carole has also noticed the glow which Mr Belikov achieved in his paintings - I'd give a lot to understand how he achieved that: absolute mastery of colour and extremely clever use of contrasts is part of it, but there's more - there's the actual mixing of the colour too. You could take almost any single element of this painting and make it work - from the apple in the foreground to the melon, and the pitcher - and all of them would work as different paintings. This man was a master.

A wonderful piece.
