You have captured the delicate nature of the Iris flower. I don't think the stalks are too long at all.

How beautiful is this? Lovely soft washes and the side of the brush strokes on the leaves. I love it. PS thank you so much for the comment on the Monet. I painted that so quickly Avril - straight in drawing with the brush - lots of dabs with the brush. Great for an inpatient artist like me - sometimes it works!
