Duh... you put that bottle in the poor dog's paws: it's a gross calumny.... Had a dog who liked a slurp of beer whenever she could get it, which wasn't often: and she immediately went to sleep. More to the point, a friend had a very old dog - a sheepdog/collie, like this one, as it happens - which had a heart attack at Christmas, when he was 19 years old. All they could do was give the old chap a nip of cognac: he lived to be 21... And this is the principle on which some of us, drunks, obviously, live our lives.... A very charming painting, well done.

Had a good chuckle when I saw this one, reminds me so much of our collie Fly only maltesers are his vice. He can recognise the rustle of a malteser packet at 100 yards! I know chocolate is bad for dogs so he only gets them when he helps himself when my back is turned, bad boy. His other vice is oranges but he's allowed one everyday and he never lets you forget it! Great painting.

Thank you Robert and Val for you lovelly comments. It was obviously a 'plant' - he'd been to the beach and was 'dog tired' - however he does love a lick of Baileys when he can get it. Thank you both
