I did this painting as an exercise with my students on art summer school on the day when the theme was 'capturing moving water'. This was my demonstration picture for them to work with in acrylics, then we tried capturing white water in soft pastels on black paper, After lunch we went out working on location at La Fosse Arthour in Normandy, France, capturing that moving water in watercolours and then again in pastels on black paper - great fun and a very productive day for everyone
