Lovely, I really like flowers wilting.

I like fading flowers too, I think this is a lovely still life Angela.

Thank you Sylvia and Fiona, At the time I was inspired by the way the rose had bowed its head as though it was shedding tears so I decided to paint a still-life. Its strange how these kind of poses beckon to paint, rare sometimes but real!

This is beautiful and a lovely tribute. There is most certainly a special beauty in a dying rose.

Thank you Diane, Yes, it was quite a sensitive experience as the rose drooped its head as though it felt sad.

When the petals begin to fall from a rose here is something sacred as it bows over and droops as though it is bidding farewell. I heard that a dear friend had passed away last week and so I thought about Roses as her garden was full of different varieties and in summer the scent was just ephemoral ....its my way of saying a fond farewell. May see if I can paint a Rose to create a bereavement card and as its winter the Rose bushes are bare will need to visualise some red roses to paint for a card.
