"Grapes in bowl"

Comments

Very good colour pencil drawing, which needs a lot of patience to achieve the colour intensity.

Another good drawing, I like the transparency you achieved with coloured pencil Angela.

Thank you Kwok, I have adopted the Faber Castell Watercolour pencils and it does take a few sessions to blend the colours deeper and add highlights. I am slowly discovering this medium"in expressing colour intensity.

Thank you Carole, I am discovering the medium of watercolour pencil once again, it takes practice in developing these still-life drawings but a good discipline!

Nice one Angela. I like the varying depth of colour on the grapes and also the way you decided to crop the bowl, much more interesting than having it " contained" within the page.

Thank you Marjorie, I didnt allow enough space on the A6 Visual diary page but managed to draw the grapes in pencil initially, then added watercolour pencil. I struggled at first with the first outlay then played with blending colours. It was amazing how the visual view opened up during the process, the bands of colours which were revealed in orange and grey in the purple became visible later on when the light dimmed. I returned later when the sunlight reflected and showed the glossy highlight bits. I might try another one but want to enlarge the drawing, so may try a canvas board.

I admire your original approach to the way you have displayed the bowl Angela. Quite a challenge to manage such a glow on those grapes, with wc pencils.

Thank you Carole, I left the highlights till last and drew around the grapes as a pencil study then coloured in with watercolour pencil. Its the first time I have ever drawn grapes , in a way has taught me how to blend in the colour for a still-life drawing exercise.

Lovely drawing, Angela. I like the colours.

Why thank you Cesare, I drew them in pencil first then added watercolour pencil afterwards.

Still-life drawing in watercolour pencil of this bunch of grapes in bowl. I left patches of paper for the highlighted areas then coloured in grey. The proximity took a while to draw as the light was altering so I waited till the sun appeared later on and added lighter pigments highlighting the purple and red with white and reddish bands,
