Portrait of Audrey Grace... mixed medium.

You have managed to portray a very sensitive portrait full of emotion. Not an easy thing to do so I think this is a very successful painting Angela.

I agree with Carole.

Many thanks Carole and Diane for your feedback on this first portrait of Audrey Grace. I have just started some charcoal portraits, and this year want to embark on the practice of drawing with charcoal still-life studies too.

Nice one Angela 👍!

Thank you Tomasz, I am just a beginner in drawing charcoal portraits but started this portrait the other day as from a recent photo taken during our family Christmas gathering,of dear Audrey our younger granddaughter.

Nice expressive portrait, Angela, with no easy medium.

Why thankyou Cesare, I tackled this coloured charcoal portrait for the first time ever, having never used this medium before. I did add coloured pencil for her eyes though. She expresses such a sweet look from those blue eyes. May try a watercolour portrait sometime!

I started the outline in pencil HB then added coloured charcoal. This is my first attempt in drawing with charcoal pencils, and think I prefer charcoal sticks, although at the start all began to blend well, but when I drew edges and dark line it kind of staggered of so I reverted to add some watercolour pencil. Anyway its a beginning so will be more persistent next time around.
