Andy Walker

Biography

My first memory of drawing was sitting at an aunt’s bureau in Suffolk when I was about five, and being taught how to hold a brush correctly! Throughout my life I continued to paint and whilst in the UK developed a business hand-painting and firing tile panels for clients who wanted something special to adorn their kitchens. During this time I taught a large adult education class and as the Internet Revolution took hold I began to write and teach various painting courses online (I started doing this in 2005). I now teach art with Udemy.com and with Artefacto.school online. I also have tutored on various painting holidays in the UK, Portugal, France, and Spain and I write articles and step-by-step demos for the Leisure Painter magazine. I am a Brand Ambassador for the Portable Painter Palette, and I also write a blog at www.andywalkerart.com. I paint in watercolours and in water-mixable oils, and enjoy painting en plein air as well as in the studio.
