Lovely first attempt. You have a nice sky~ cloud washes happening, and warm pleasing color palette. Do they really clean up easily with water?

Thanks for the kind comments David and Nancy. Felt like everything was being painted wet in wet. Not quite sure what I was doing really. Using water mix able linseed oil and water to thin the very thick paint. All a learning curve I suppose, good fun though. As for cleaning the brushes up, have'nt tried yet as I have three paintings on the go.

Well this a good start Andre. I particularly like the far land. You don't seem to have painted it on canvas? The method is certainly different from acrylics but you have a very clean, fresh result.

Oils are forgiving in that you can wipe it off! The drawback is when you don't finish it in one go you have to make sure paint is dry before you apply more. I use mine straight from the tube. I like the colours in this one.

Remarkably good for a first attempt Andre. I tried water based oils for a while but soon retreated back to my watercolour safety net!

Stands out because of its simplicity . I enjoy water mixable oils ( Artisan?) . You can push the shapes around , come back to it, mix on the canvas. Though I like acrylic s to just . completely different .disciplines.

Excellent first go Andre, I started off with Artisan oils. Love the cleaness of your colours and the simple yet effective composition.
