Au Cadet de Gascogne remembers when Montmartre was an artists' village. Under these trees, Picasso sketched and Apollinaire recited poetry. Old Marcel says autumn reveals ghosts of those times – silhouettes in hats, echoes of conversations about art and revolution. This October, trees blaze with amber and ruby. Old residents know this is where autumn smells of turpentine, coffee, and artists' dreams.
