We also have a Point of Ayr here in north Wales Arnold , so I took a second look. So pleased I did. What a lovely painting. Ido like the limited palette you have used . Though I think our Point Of Ayr is prettier

Must be the same one!

Do you think so Arnold ? . Talacre beach , Gronant.

I used a very old photo as my guide. The water in front was really a large puddle- I added some stones and debris later to highlight this a bit more. Obviously you wouldn't get a lake next to a coal mine

Yes it is my Point of Ayr . The large "puddle is actually the Irish Sea. There is an oil refinery there now, but it is well hidden. Next door is a wonderful beach, light house , and a nature reserve. . It looks across to the Wirral . And has the Clwydian range behind it where I live.

Fabulous....you're the master of atmospheric skies!
