Sunrise Over Larne Lough

This is very atmospheric work AC, quite dark, but great sunset, you did well to get 2nd place in your art club competition

Hi Alette Very nice watercolours indeed. May I make 2 suggestions. I am not sure which paper you are using but try an sheet of Arches 300gsm Rough. It is a bit expensive but you can get 8 pics rom one imperial sheet (4 on each side if you cut it up). Then any texture that shows through will be random and it is a lovely paper to work with. Secondly, pre mix your sunset colours nice and rich, dampen all the sky area of the paper thoroughly, wait a few minutes, then boldly do the whole sky at once. Nerve-wracking i agree but the colours will blend beautifully. Once it starts to dry...DONT TOUCH IT AGAIN!!!! Use strong colours as they will dry lighter. Keep up the good work. Graham
