This is in a league of its own, love the way the silk top is done. Brilliant

I dislike nudes. I find them offensive; why not males instead? But your treatment of the vest is beautiful.

I agree with Norah. BRILLIANT!

It wasn't a personal criticism; just a personal opinion as a woman. The concentration on painting female nudes really annoys me. If paintings are a celebration of the human form then it should be the human form in both genders and all shapes and sizes. Your paintings are excellent and extremely skillful and I do understand the difficulty in getting models . It just annoys me that the vast majority of paintings by everyone not just you are of pretty young women and hardly ever of fat or old people or of men.

To answer your critism Diana. I have been in contact with a professional male model who wants to offer his services for free just because he likes my work. He is almost 60 and very overweight, but he makes a good quirky subject. Once I have fulfilled my present obligations I will be concentrating on him.

I enjoy life drawing and over the years have drawn just about every size, shape , male. female.fat, thin, beautiful and dare I say it ugly. I know what Diana is saying there are certain artists who only choose young, nubile females and paint provocative pictures. I do not feel that yours are in this catagory in the least I do not see your pictures in the "provocative" light at all, to me they are just lovely pictures of the female figure. Bring on more.

A beautiful Nude as usual Alan love the pose and the treatment of the top...her face too is particularly beautiful...nothing like a live model of any kind as Sylvia pointed out

Yet another person you fully agrees with Norah. I'm not getting into the debate about the other matter. Let the quality of the work speak for itself. Yours certainly does.

Hi Alan - Anita van Zyl here - trying my hand at the figurative again, feel it's something I have to improve. Perhaps you can have a look ?

Sorry Alan Anita here again, per accident I pushed the wrong button and sent it off - sorry. I wanted to say that I am actually getting a model now once a week and would like to improve my skills.... I think it will only happen if I actually work at it. Thanks for your help Anita van Zyl

fantastic. I love your work
