Really lovely, Alan, and I thoroughly approve of the addition of the feather (I do keep in touch with what happens on AF's). The eggs are brilliantly done and I like the dark and Dutch feel to the work.

Thanks for your comments everyone. Most appreciated. Thanks for the vote on the feather Thea as you know I wasn't sure about it but the painting looked unfinished without it. I'm looking at more involved still lifes now. Getting a feel for them - and I don't have to worry about the props keeping warm :)

Hadn't thought of that, Alan!! I really love your still life paintings and the quality of tone you achieve with them. It is nice to branch out and do something different as it stops one getting stale. I alternate between still life, portraits and a few landscapes - I obviously have a low threshold of boredom! Looking forward to seeing more of your still lifes.

My subject matter is more limited than yours. I've only got two areas but I'm learning from each and applying it to the other. I find I'm less tentative when I paint now after working on the still lifes and my techniques have evolved.

This is very nice, I love the feather, it adds to your picture, I also like the glow under the bowl.
