its come out dark for sure

Good strong tones in this one Alan, the house stands out against the pale sky.

Is this one of the pieces of paper that you did an under wash on Alan?

yes Fiona it is ..James Fletcher Watson used a warm grey wash under some of his paintings ,he said it helped him to get the right tonal values .he used to call it putting on the soup when referring to his green foregrounds, a wonderful gentleman,, Fiona,try a pale blue wash under a loch scape ,then use warm mountains lowish down in the background ..the blue wash will enhance the warm mountains . and the warm sands in the foreground stand out a lovely tone ,,simpler the better I will try one later and drop it on
