Really lovely watercolour - very clean and fresh and super palette. I struggle with finding the right colours for stonework so can I ask which ones you used in this painting for the stone of the house?

Beautiful Lake District painting Alan, love those trees and the snow on the ground and the people in their brightly coloured clothes

Wonderful painting. I'm into snow at the moment but only I think because we haven't got any.

I've painted this scene a few times but this is very good Alan.

A stunning piece, beautifully done with a lovely atmosphere.

Hello Thea Thanks for your comments. Before painting the walls I damp each section of wall in turn with clean water and then drop in randomly a mix of raw sienna with a touch of cerulean blue and burnt sienna. When this has dried I paint over the top a few stones with varying mixes of the same colours. Happy painting. Alan

Gosh, lovely work Alan. So fresh and colourful, well done.

Absolutely beautiful Alan!

Wonderful watercolour, I especially love how you have done the trees on the right hand side.

Beautiful watercolour Alan.

Many thanks everyone for your generous comments which are much appreciated. I do enjoy painting snow scenes especially of the Lakes and Dales Happy painting Alan
