I love the perspective on this, makes me want to reach out and touch his hand. Your studies are beautiful, fantastic work!

Don't know if I'm overly emotional this morning but these two portraits brought tears to my eyes. If these are studies I can't imagine how stunning the finished portraits will be. I'm stuggling with my first portrait in oils of my daughter at the moment. I think I'm trying to be too clever, I've done the back of her head with her face reflected in a mirror. Needless to say it's nearly gone through the window several times already! I shall persevere with it using your portraits as my inspiration but whether or not it will ever see the light of day on POL is another matter!!!

Val thanks for your comments, I am really anxious to get the paintings done, I am waiting for their parents to let me know the size. Please don't set up a piece that is to complicated when using oils for a first portrait, that is not being fair on yourself. It is good when you have something tricky as you are attempting now to plan it out with a study. It gives you room to experiment and know where your weak pints might be, so that when getting the oils ready, you'll be fully preapared!

another masterpiece,,,,chris
