Some great additions to your already fantastic gallery. I particularly like this one because of the colours and the light on her face and hair. She is beautiful but I think my favourite still has to be the portrait you did of your wife. Very well done.

Thanks very much Val. Because it was done from a picture I took in the dark, cos I saw her late in the evening and she wasn't going to stay for a sitting as I found out she lives in Paris. The picture was quite dark, so I had to liven it with colours, especially the background.

I love all your paintings. This one is fantastic, love the colours.

your work in pencil, charcoal and paint is excellent

Fantastic colours, very pretty girl. You have done her great justice. Well done. Carole

Love this too . Gouache great media - love the looseness and the light reflected on the face. I know why I missed them - just looked at dateds- I was on holiday!

dateds! It is the morning. I did a self portrait in gouache you will find it in my user gallery http://www.painters-online.co.uk/gallery/picture.asp?id=2963

well that doesn't work you will have to look under my user name Jeannette Harrison. Love your portraits. I am just off to start one.

Great Jeanette, I 'll just have to check it out!

another masterpiece adebanji, how do you photograph your paintings to put them on this site ,they always look as though they havent lost anything in the process...chris

Thanks Chris- The way I do it is to take the painting under different lightings, also using different exposures - then I compare the outcomes on my camera and select the one that look nearest to the painting. It is also good to take the pictures in shade as it won't be too bright or look bleached. Tripods also help alot. Always have your digital camera on the highest setting, at least 5 mega-pixels. Make sure you capture the whole painting in the square-you can crop out details later. BUT IF THE PAINTING IS SMALL- under A4 - I use my A4 scanner.

Lovely portrait, lovely girl. Really like your loose and free style of painting. Great.

I met her at the station, she looked amazing, the next thing was to strike a deal on how I could paint what captivated me. -Her hair- the effect of light on it! This was done in gouache.
