Always a joy to see your textural work, which I envy. An interesting illusion going on here (if I may say so). Is the left leg forward or the right? Not that it matters though. A fine addition to a superb collection.

Thanks to Tony, I can't take my eyes of the legs now - although given the angle of the body, the right leg is bent and inclined, while the left appears to stand before it; and that dog is about to shake itself all over everyone on the beach, but that's another matter. Fine painting, which works rather as a mosaic in interlocking tiles.

Thank you Tony and Robert for your very kind comments and for the interesting observation.. Indeed there is an optical illusion here purposely done to make it more interesting. By hiding the lower parts of the legs in the sand which is "wet" and covered with a very low level of sea water I allow the viewer to guess about the proper position of the legs.

Love this latest posting of one of your impasto works works Abraham with the same fine details

Thank you Ros for your very kind comment

Oil colors on canvas painted with palette knives 2013, 100X100 cm It is advisable to view this painting under "View Full Size" in order to capture the 3D-like texture. I wanted to achieve a pastel-like impression by using "creamy colors". Comments are appreciated. Any ideas for another title?
