Hi Abigail, this is stunning, this is the classic scenario of what not to paint to give the impact. Funnily this type of composition of white on black, is a current discussion point on the UKCPS forum at the moment, where a few of the members are having problems, you certainly didn't. I also have a commission to do of the same subject, was thinking of doing it in watercolour, but seeing this has changed my mind. Thanks Abigail.

Thanks Peter! I chose to do this drawing on the black paper for that particular reason, I thought it would be good to use the paper to imply a lot of the fur and to just draw the highlighted areas. I did find it quite frustrating not to be able to get proper coverage in the white areas though which is why I had to resort to using acrylics, but you live and learn! I have now joined UKCPS but currently can't get onto the forum as haven't been authorised yet, so you may see me there soon! Am I right in thinking you can't post images on the forum though?

Hi Abigail, glad to hear you joined the UKCPS, If you have joined as a full member, then you will have access not only to the forum but also have your own gallery for posting your work, together with a page on the members gallery. The talking point magazine which is quarterly, is very good and as a full member you will have access to all the back issues from 2001, the start of the society. Best wishes, Peter
