I'd really like to know what the objective of this painting was please? I find it quite disturbing.

How anyone can find a painting of a father or mother holding their babies feet disturbing is beyond me. I am a christian and this painting is significant for me and my wife in our faith.

What a lovely idea. It reminds me of the praying hands. I do feel it may have been better with a softer approach, the lines on the feet seem quite sharp and dark and on the adult fingers too, maybe need to show a difference in softness between the baby feet and the older , more worn adult hands but a lovely composition and a very thought provoking painting.

Great idea to do it in B&W, as it concentrates you more on the image rather than the colour and would have then lost its impact. I feel like I want to tickle the foot on the right to make the toes curl like the one on the left! Super! What size is it, please?

Well done, certainly one to keep.

many thanks for your lovely comments, Sheila the painting is 20 x 16 inches. As my wife pinched this one I'm completing a slightly larger version for Sherwood Artweek in June.

I love this. It's a very moving painting, the moment everyone can relate to and wonderfully executed.
