Holden Ute in the 1950's - Australia's Own

Comments

I'm married to an Aussie so always love a good Ute!

Good to know Heather!

I like this. Well painted and an interesting subject. I know nothing about Ute's, but it looks fascinating.

This watercolor tries to relive the Australia of 1957 or thereabouts when the second version of our own Holden ruled the roads and every town had a Holden Dealership. This building in Ross Tasmania is now a Second Hand Dealership and looks much as I have painted it .The Ute is much like the one my father owned as a Grocery Shop owner in Brisbane Queensland. At 17 I got my driver's licence in 1960 and did home deliveries for his customers.
