Super piece, love the textures and layers that add such depth to the painting.

Thank you so much Maureen, Seok and Russell - normally put pastel over a lot of the underpainting, but thought the dribbles I achieved at the bottom with the watery acrylic looked a bit like roots, so left it!

Wonderful lines and colour.

Thank you David.

Good one Lynn

You know how to let the media - pastel and acrylic - tell the story for you. This picture has real presence.

Really like this, especially the bottom section with the dribbles and lovely colours.

Love the way you have created this painting, its really brought out the texture of the tree bark.

Thank you Jenny - I know - I love the dribbles too, which are from the underpainting! Thank you Linda. The bark just appears when passing the pastel over the surface, as I have made careful textures under the whole lot with gesso. "Ruined" a pristine decorators brush or two by attacking them with scissors to do the gesso on the paintings, as nice neat ones don't do the job. Thank goodness they are cheap at the local hardware shop!
