Not painted in a long time or posted here. Dug out some oils over a couple of weekends and painted this on a 12 x 9 canvas panel.

Has cleared away some of the painters cobwebs and plan to do more :-)

The trees and background are fine. I suggest the colours and tones of the rocks need reconsideration. Are the rock faces concave or convex? Tones lighten with distance. What is the object in the middle at the foot of the tree? Best wishes.

Hi Barrie Thanks for your comments. The rocks are sheared off at all different angles and primarily iron ore hence the colour ( and the colour of the water ). The exception being what I think you are referring to, which is a large slab of sandstone thats split off almost square at the end.
